Jiayu Ships 2,000 Polyethylene Heat Shrink Sleeves and 3,000 m of Anti-Corrosion Tape to Turkmenistan

Langfang Zhongyou Jiayu Anti-Corrosion Technology Co., Ltd. completed an overseas shipment of pipeline corrosion protection materials to Turkmenistan on August 18, 2026.

The products were supplied through Sichuan Petroleum & Natural Gas Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. for use in an overseas pipeline construction project. The shipment included 2,000 polyethylene heat shrink sleeves and 3,000 meters of polyethylene anti-corrosion adhesive tape.

This shipment demonstrates Jiayu’s continued capability to support oil and gas pipeline construction projects with integrated external pipeline coating and field joint corrosion protection materials.

Polyethylene Heat Shrink Sleeves for Pipeline Field Joints

Polyethylene heat shrink sleeves are widely used for the external corrosion protection of welded pipeline field joints.

A typical heat shrink sleeve consists of a radiation-crosslinked polyethylene backing and a heat-activated adhesive layer. During installation, heat causes the backing material to shrink tightly around the pipe joint while the adhesive bonds to the prepared steel surface and adjacent factory-applied coating.

When properly selected and installed, the system provides:

Tight conformity around the pipeline joint
Resistance to moisture penetration
Mechanical protection during handling and backfilling
Strong adhesion to the prepared pipe surface

The Ø168.3 mm sleeves supplied for this shipment were manufactured according to the project’s specified dimensions. Their 450 mm width provides coverage across the welded field joint and overlap onto the adjacent coating.

Polyethylene Anti-Corrosion Tape for External Pipeline Protection

The shipment also included 3,000 meters of polyethylene anti-corrosion adhesive tape.

Polyethylene anti-corrosion tape is a cold-applied pipeline wrapping material used for the corrosion protection of buried or exposed steel pipelines, fittings, bends and repair areas. Depending on the selected coating system, it can be applied together with a compatible primer, inner wrap tape and mechanical outer wrap.

The tape supplied for this project has a width of 50 mm and a total thickness of 1.2 mm. The relatively narrow width makes it suitable for wrapping smaller-diameter pipelines, fittings and areas where greater flexibility is required during application.
