Product Description

Visco-Elastic Anti-Corrosion Paste is a highly conformable filler material designed for irregular surfaces such as flanges, valves, pipe fittings, and bolts. Manufactured with advanced polyisobutylene (PIB) technology, the paste offers self-healing properties, permanent flexibility, and excellent sealing performance. It complies with key international standards including ISO 21809-3.

System Composition

The visco-elastic paste is a filler material designed for irregular surfaces. It is not a standalone anti-corrosion coating and must be covered by visco-elastic tape.

  • Visco-Elastic Paste (JY-202): Fills cavities, bolt recesses, and sharp angles to create a smooth surface — preventing bridging or voids during tape wrapping.
  • Visco-Elastic Tape (JY-201): Applied directly over the paste to provide the main corrosion barrier with self-healing, cold-flow properties.

Installation Guide & Precautions

Installation Method

The Visco-Elastic Paste is applied by hand. It is a soft, conformable material that can be pressed directly into cavities and recesses. No mixing, heating, or special tools are required.

Quick Installation Steps

  1. Surface preparation: Clean the steel surface to St2 grade (hand tool cleaning). Remove loose rust, dirt, and moisture.
  2. Apply paste: Take an appropriate amount of paste. Press firmly into flange crevices, bolt recesses, weld seams, and any surface irregularities.
  3. Shape and smooth: Use gloved hands or a simple scraper to level the paste, creating a smooth, continuous surface flush with the surrounding area.
  4. Wrap with tape: Immediately apply Visco-Elastic Tape over the paste while the surface is clean, following the tape installation guide.

Key Reminders

  • Fill completely — Ensure no air pockets remain inside cavities. Press firmly.
  • Do not leave exposed — The paste is a filler, not a final coating. It must be covered by Visco-Elastic Tape.
  • Use on irregular shapes only — For smooth pipe surfaces, the tape alone is sufficient.
  • Apply tape immediately — Once the paste is shaped, wrap with tape without delay to prevent contamination.
  • Store in a dry, cool place below 35°C, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
